About M/W/DBE
The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise The DBE Office is responsible for administering the Airport's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program (DBE Program) and the DBE Program is a federal program through the Department of Transportation designed to encourage and facilitate the growth and development of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. The DBE Office ensures that DBE's participate in airport/city opportunities to the fullest extent possible. The DBE program includes services for certification of DBE businesses, monitoring contracts for compliance with DBE participation goals, and outreach activities to attract new DBE's.
The MBE/WBE Program, is a local program that is being administered by The DBE Program Office. The Mayor's Executive Order #28 established this local program to ensure that minority and women businesses have the maximum opportunity to participate in City contracts that are locally funded. The City's M/W/DBE certification process has been consolidated at the St. Louis Airport Authority since 2001. The City is committed to increasing participations by minority and women owned businesses in all contracts. The City has established a goal of at least 25% minority business enterprise (MBE) and at least 5% women business enterprise (WBE) participation in contracts and purchases where City funds are expended.
